Stray dogs bite trio including a baby in North Kashmir’s Bandipora
Bandipora, May 1, KNT: Three people including a four year-old baby were bitten by stray dogs on Saturday in Garoora area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district, creating panic among the locals especially children and elderly people. Sources told KNT a baby, a kid and a man were bitten by stray dogs doubling the fears among locals amid Covid-19 pandemic. The victims have been identified as 38 year old Farooq Ahmad Lone, 10 year old Zeeshan Hamid Dar and 4 year old baby Rafia Masood Mir, all residents of Garoora village. Local sources said that the victims were shifted to hospitals but were advised to stay at their respective homes, after treatment with vaccines, due to the risk of novel coronavirus infection in hospitals. An alarming rise of dog-bite incidents are being reported across Valley with a common complaint about non-seriousness of the authorities to mitigate their problems. Recently, a kid was mauled to death by stray dogs in Southern Pulwama district. (BNP)
